Natura expands manufacturing capacity in Mexico

Natura Fuels Mexican Growth with Major Production Expansion in Celaya

Mexico’s manufacturing sector is experiencing a significant boost, driven by major investments from global cosmetic giants. A prime example is Natura’s strategic expansion at its Celaya facility in Guanajuato, Mexico, marking a major step forward for local production and supply chain consolidation.

This strategic investment involves installing new production lines and state-of-the-art quality control technology designed to dramatically enhance output. The plan aims to increase production capacity by a substantial 30 to 60 percent, signaling an ambitious commitment to scaling operations within the country.

The facility itself is a powerhouse of commerce, spanning 189,000 square meters and serving as a critical manufacturing and distribution hub for both Natura and Avon. More than 1,000 employees contribute to this complex operation, underscoring the facility’s established role in the regional economy.

This expansion is not merely about increasing volume; it reflects a deeper commitment to localization. By increasing the proportion of products manufactured locally, Natura is strengthening Mexico’s position within its global manufacturing and supply chain network.

The move further solidifies Celaya’s status as a vital manufacturing and distribution hub, a role that is being reinforced by the recent relocation of Avon’s production and distribution operations to the same location. This synergy ensures that the region remains a focal point for commerce and logistics.

Looking ahead, the long-term vision is even more ambitious: Natura aims to double the number of products produced in Mexico. This goal ties the facility’s immediate expansion into a larger, sustained commitment to local industrial growth.

Beyond production metrics, the investment brings significant benefits to the local ecosystem. The expansion is set to strengthen links with local suppliers and foster collaboration with specialist talent, creating new opportunities for the local workforce.

Ultimately, this initiative is more than just a factory upgrade; it is an investment in Mexico’s industrial capabilities, positioning the region at the center of a larger, growing global cosmetics enterprise.
