LVMH Beauty and Sephora sales grow in Q3 2026
The luxury market is proving that beauty and specialist retail are the ultimate anchors, demonstrating remarkable resilience even as broader economic forces shift. LVMH recently unveiled results for the third quarter of 2026 that painted a picture of steady growth, driven by innovation and strategic expansion, despite softer demand in key markets like China.
LVMH recorded impressive third-quarter revenue of €18.5 billion. While the overall organic growth for the quarter was a modest 1 percent, this positive momentum was fueled by the exceptional performance of two core divisions: Perfumes & Cosmetics and Selective Retailing. This success underscores the enduring desirability of luxury goods when coupled with compelling product innovation.
The beauty segment, specifically Perfumes & Cosmetics, delivered a solid 1 percent organic growth, generating €2.01 billion in revenue. This growth was significantly bolstered by the successful introduction of highly anticipated fragrance launches, including J’adore Intense, Sauvage Extrait, and Dior Addict, alongside robust makeup performance from Forever and Backstage.
Meanwhile, the retail side saw even more dynamic expansion. Selective Retailing achieved an impressive 8 percent organic growth in the third quarter. This success is largely attributed to the aggressive expansion of Sephora, which continues to capture market share through exclusive launches like Rhode and the integration of Chinese beauty brands, alongside physical expansion into strategic markets like Belgium and Croatia.
The engine behind this retail success also shines through in the fragrance sector. Guerlain reported substantial growth, benefiting from the strong performance of its fragrance portfolio and the enduring appeal of its lip products like Rouge G.
These figures highlight a critical trend: while the Fashion & Leather Goods segment experienced a 5 percent organic decline during the quarter, the prestige beauty and specialist retail categories are thriving. This reveals that consumers remain deeply invested in experiential luxury and beauty innovation, positioning these divisions as the key drivers for future growth in the luxury landscape.
