Leadership expansion drives ELC digital transformation

Beauty Reimagined: Estée Lauder Accelerates Digital Future with Expanded Leadership

The Estée Lauder Companies is charting an exciting course toward the future of beauty, signaling a major organizational shift designed to put technology and digital commerce at the very heart of its global strategy. To drive this vision, the company has recently expanded the responsibilities of key leaders, focusing on accelerating enterprise-wide transformation and maximizing the impact of their digital footprint.

At the core of this transformation are the newly expanded roles of Brian Franz and Amber English. These appointments signal a deliberate strategy to harness the power of technology, artificial intelligence, and digital commerce to simplify operations, boost productivity, and scale successful strategies across all brands.

Brian Franz has stepped into the role of Chief Technology & Transformation Officer. This expanded mandate puts him in charge of ELC’s enterprise-wide transformation, building upon his existing oversight of technology, data, and analytics. His focus is on accelerating AI-enabled processes, refining enterprise business services, and creating new ways of working. This initiative is supported by key partnerships with industry leaders like Shopify and Accenture, positioning technology as the engine for operational excellence.

Meanwhile, Amber English has been named President, Digital & Online, The Americas and Global Amazon Lead. Her expanded role centers on managing ELC’s vital global Amazon relationship, which currently touches 13 brands across 11 markets. She is responsible for defining the consumer experience, overseeing creator commerce, and crafting a cohesive cross-market digital strategy.

The strategic alignment behind these moves is clear: the transformation is rooted in leveraging digital expertise to refine the operating model. By placing technology and digital commerce squarely at the center of their operations, the Estée Lauder Companies aims to achieve greater efficiency and ensure that digital strategies are successfully scaled across international markets.

This focus on the digital channel is already yielding significant results. In fiscal 2026, online sales accounted for 34 percent of the group’s reported net sales, marking an increase of three percentage points year on year. These developments underscore the growing importance of a seamless, technology-driven approach to connecting with consumers in the beauty landscape.
