Delaunay and Touimi take charge at L’Oréal Morocco
A significant shift in leadership has recently taken place at L’Oréal Morocco, marking a strategic blend of global expertise and deep local knowledge. The company has appointed Gilles Delaunay as the new Managing Director, while Laila Benjelloun Touimi has stepped into the role of Chairwoman.
This transition is designed to propel L’Oréal Morocco forward by combining two distinct, powerful skill sets. Delaunay brings a wealth of experience, boasting 27 years within the L’Oréal group, including more than two decades focused on the Consumer Products Division and most recently serving as the Global Commerce Transformation Officer. His mandate will focus on driving international commercial transformation and operational efficiency.
Complementing this is Laila Benjelloun Touimi, who has long been instrumental in the success of the Moroccan subsidiary. Having led the operation since 2019, she will focus her leadership on strengthening institutional and stakeholder relationships, ensuring the continued success of the L’Oréal Foundation’s activities in the region.
Under her tenure, Benjelloun Touimi oversaw impressive growth, successfully doubling the subsidiary’s revenue and expanding its market share. This strong foundation is built upon L’Oréal Morocco’s extensive network, which currently markets 19 international brands across diverse sectors, including Consumer Products, Dermatological Beauty, Professional Products, and L’Oréal Luxe.
The company’s distribution strategy is comprehensive, ensuring reach across key Moroccan markets through supermarkets, pharmacies, parapharmacies, salons, perfumeries, and beauty chains.
The leadership change effectively merges Delaunay’s expertise in global commercial transformation with Benjelloun Touimi’s established relationships and understanding of the Moroccan landscape. This synergy is poised to provide crucial continuity as L’Oréal continues to develop its multi-channel and multi-division business within the dynamic Moroccan market.
