Unpacking the personal things I ignored

We all strive to be good at managing our health and wellbeing, but life often piles on demands—work, family, responsibilities, and unexpected expenses. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, making it difficult to prioritize personal health when you are constantly juggling so much.

While keeping an eye on our general health is a goal, true self-awareness often requires a deliberate effort, especially when life gets jam-packed. We often settle into a pattern of ignoring bothersome issues, simply accepting them as part of being alive, without truly questioning what we can do to improve our quality of life.

This realization—that we can take control—is where the journey really begins. I’ve recently started taking action on several bothersome health and wellness issues that had been quietly affecting me, and the experience has been surprisingly empowering.

One area I’ve been focused on is hair health. I noticed gradual thinning around the temples and hairline, coupled with Telogen Effluvium, where more hair enters the resting and shedding phase of the growth cycle. This was something I had previously ignored, but now I am actively seeking solutions.

To tackle this, I turned my attention to advanced skincare technology, specifically LED masks. These masks require consistency, but they have shown significant visible changes in skin health, proving that commitment pays off. While skin is one thing, the focus shifted to hair, leading me to explore innovative options like the CurrentBody Skin LED Hair Growth Helmet.

The appeal of the hair helmet lies in its ability to stimulate dormant hair follicles and encourage them to re-enter the active growth phase. Clinical trials show impressive results, demonstrating a significant increase in hair growth rate. The technology works below the surface, boosting blood flow and supporting repair, which is incredibly promising for addressing thinning and shedding.

Beyond hair, other physical challenges presented themselves. My knees began to ache intensely, severely limiting my ability to move and climb stairs. It took a persistent push, guided by a physiotherapist, to stop accepting this pain as inevitable and start actively rebuilding strength. Through focused strength training and exercise, I discovered that strength training was essential for balancing my body and addressing muscular imbalances.

The experience also highlighted the importance of internal health. Persistent fatigue was not solely due to perimenopause, but rather a deficiency in iron. After consulting with experts and using AI to evaluate options, I found that a specific iron supplement was the right fit, leading to a noticeable and steady increase in my energy levels.

Even seemingly minor issues, like weak wrists caused by long periods of carrying weight, became focal points for action. While the progress can be slow, addressing these physical limitations—whether through targeted exercises or addressing underlying deficiencies—proves that change is possible.

Ultimately, the most important takeaway is this: we have the power to address our health. Whether it is through advanced technology, consistent self-care, or simply taking the step to book an appointment, taking control of our wellbeing is entirely within our reach. It is time to stop waiting and start prioritizing the health that matters.
