Sophie Gilg joins Parfums Christian Dior as General Counsel

A New Era of Leadership: Sophie Gilg Joins Dior and LVMH to Shape Beauty Group Strategy

In a significant move aimed at bolstering legal and ethical governance, Parfums Christian Dior has appointed Sophie Gilg as General Counsel for the company and LVMH’s Beauty division. This strategic appointment signals a commitment to strengthening the legal, ethics, and compliance structure that underpins the vast luxury empire.

Gilg will assume a crucial role in overseeing the entire legal and compliance strategy for the LVMH Beauty division. Reporting directly to Parfums Christian Dior President and CEO Véronique Courtois, she will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of managing a major global beauty portfolio.

Her background is steeped in the luxury world, demonstrating a deep understanding of high-end brand management and complex corporate structures. Gilg has previously served as Legal Director and a member of the Parfums Christian Dior management committee for four years. Her tenure within the broader luxury sphere includes serving as Legal Director for major entities such as Hublot, Zenith, and TAG Heuer from 2006 to 2021.

Bringing this specialized expertise to the LVMH structure, Gilg joined the LVMH legal department in 2004, building a long-standing familiarity with the group’s operational and legal framework.

This appointment comes at a pivotal time for LVMH‘s Beauty division. As the group continues to reorganize its leadership and seek to position its beauty maisons for ambitious future growth in an increasingly challenging global market, a robust legal and compliance infrastructure is more vital than ever.

The reinforcement of this leadership structure is particularly relevant given recent leadership changes within the division, including the naming of Alexandre Oulès as Chief Operating Officer of LVMH’s Beauty division. This dual leadership ensures that strategic growth is supported by meticulous legal oversight.

Sophie Gilg’s integration into this leadership role ensures that the pursuit of commercial expansion is balanced by rigorous adherence to legal standards and ethical practice, setting a strong foundation for the future of luxury beauty.
