PZ Cussons appoints Sarah Miles to board
PZ Cussons is injecting fresh, high-level expertise into its leadership as it continues its trajectory toward growth, recently appointing Hush CEO Sarah Miles as a non-executive director to the board.
This strategic move brings a wealth of experience spanning international consumer goods, beauty, e-commerce, and digital retail directly to the group. Miles is not just bringing a name to the table; she is bringing a proven track record in the dynamic world of modern retail and brand expansion.
Before taking on this important role at PZ Cussons, Miles built an impressive career navigating some of the world’s most influential retail landscapes. Her experience includes twelve years at Diageo, five years at Amazon, and a tenure as the Apparel Director for Fashion in Europe. Most notably, she led the success of Feelunique, an online beauty retailer that was later acquired by Sephora, giving her deep insight into the complexities of digital commerce and beauty brand management.
Today, Miles currently commands the helm of Hush, a thriving UK fashion and lifestyle brand, providing her with current, front-line experience in the consumer goods sector.
The appointment is perfectly timed, coinciding with PZ Cussons’ impressive return to growth. The company’s performance saw its adjusted operating profit for the year to May 31 increase by 24.5 percent, reaching £59.5 million. Revenue also climbed by 5.4 percent, settling at £541.4 million.
This infusion of digital retail and international consumer brand knowledge is crucial for PZ Cussons as it continues to nurture its portfolio of brands, including established names like Imperial Leather and St. Tropez. Miles’ background directly supports the group’s ambition to build on its current momentum and develop new ventures.
