Nestlé sells vitamin brands for $1 Billion

Nestlé Divests Mainstream Supplements for $1 Billion, Focusing on Core Strengths

In a significant strategic move, Nestlé has agreed to divest its mainstream vitamins, minerals, and supplements business, parting with a substantial portfolio for US$1 billion. This transaction reflects the company’s ongoing effort to streamline its operations and concentrate investment on areas where it believes it holds its strongest competitive advantage.

The sale encompasses a diverse range of well-known brands and product lines. The portfolio includes major names such as Nature’s Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, Gard, Nuun, Puritan’s Pride, and Sisu, along with Nestlé’s US private-label supplements business. These acquired entities generated impressive sales totaling US$1.2 billion in 2025 alone.

While Nestlé is shedding this segment, the company is retaining its premium supplement brand, Solgar, signaling a focus on maintaining high-margin, specialized offerings rather than broad-market volume.

The deal is being undertaken to advance the strategy of CEO Philipp Navratil, which prioritizes focusing Nestlé’s resources on its most valuable businesses. This divestment allows the company to refocus its energy on core competencies.

The purchaser of this health and wellness platform is private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners. Yellow Wood is positioning itself to operate the acquired portfolio as a standalone business, expanding its footprint in the consumer health sector following prior acquisitions, including ChapStick and Elida Beauty.

The transaction is slated to close in the first half of 2027, setting a clear timeline for the transition. This move represents a significant realignment of Nestlé’s business structure, moving it away from mainstream supplements to concentrate on premium health solutions.
